About Us

History:

In 1931 some friends who had been meeting for several months in a builders’ hut, formed themselves into a Church.  A membership roll was drawn up, officers elected, plans made for a building and a minister called.

We are called “Kingsbury Free Church” with the word “Baptist” in brackets. This is because we welcome friends from all churches but are affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain.

About Us:

In common with all Baptist Churches, our church is entirely self governing.   All matters concerning the life and work of the church, the pastorate or the premises, are decided by a majority decision at the regular meeting of the members.  However, although self-governing, we appreciate the help and advice given by the Regional Ministers and the Baptist Union.

Whilst we welcome into membership all those who have been baptised in any tradition and commited their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ and who wish to work and worship in our church, the only form of baptism we practice is that of Believer’s Baptism

Leadership:

The leadership of the church is the diaconate, consisting of up to nine members elected by their fellow members, and the minister.   One deacon serves as secretary and one as treasurer.

Sunday Services:

We have one service on a Sunday morning, starting at 10.45 and lasting for about an hour.  Children up to the age of 10 go out to Sunday School after the first 15 minutes and creche facilities are available for babies and toddlers.   On the 4th Sunday of the month we have an All Age Family Service.  Communion is held twice a month, on the 1st and 3rd Sundays, as part of our morning service. All believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are welcome to take part whether or not they are members of the church.
